Platycodon grandiflorus
The balloon flower is a medium size perennial growing
to 12"-18". It's bright blue flowers bring a garden bed alive with color from
early summer until frost. The balloon flower gets it's name from it's buds
that look like balloons waving in the wind on long stems. Balloon flower is
rarely bothered by disease or insect problems making it virtually a
maintenance-free perennial. Yellow foliage in autumn highlights the garden bed
once more.
